According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, at least 5.9 million Palestinian refugees live in the occupied territories or in other countries.
Of that number, some 2.5 million are displaced in the West Bank (15 percent) and the Gaza Strip (27 percent), representing 42 percent of the total.
Since the beginning of Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip, on October 7, the death toll in that coastal enclave amounts to more than 35,000.
Cuba advocates peace in those territories on the basis of the creation of two states, which allows the people of Palestine to exercise their right to self-determination and have an independent and sovereign State within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem. as its capital.
