A PZL M-18 aircraft, belonging to the National Air Services Company (ENSA) crashed this Thursday, at 9 am, while carrying out flights in the interest of caring for the crops of the Rice Company in the South of the Jíbaro, in the province of Sancti Spíritus.

The Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, specified that the incident occurred south of the town of Peralejo, in the municipality of La Sierpe, and pointed out that the captain of the aircraft suffered minor damage.

Rodríguez Dávila also reported that a commission from the Cuban Civil Aeronautics Institute is investigating the causes of the accident.

According to statements by Dr. Eduardo Contreras Lara, director of Regional Base No. 10 of the Integrated Medical Emergency System of Sancti Spíritus to the Escambray newspaper website, the pilot, Armando Leyva Sosa, 57, suffered a simple head injury. and blood pressure decompensation.

At the close of this information, Leyva Sosa was transferred to the Provincial Hospital, with the purpose of carrying out a more in-depth evaluation, but there is no report of danger to life, the doctor detailed.
