DMC predicts heavy rains in a few hours in central Chile and issues two weather alarms for the next few hours

According to information extracted from ECMWF and GFS modelthe rainfall that occurs during the advance of the frontal system through the central zone of the country will have maximum rates that will be between 8 and 10 mm/h on average.

Meteored forecasts indicate that these precipitation volumes will remain constant during the advance of the frontal band towards the central north. Sectors of O’Higgins should also receive abundant rainfall during the afternoon of this Thursday (20th).

The Showers will also be intense over the regions of Valparaíso and Metropolitanawhere they could exceed 10 mm/h in some sectors of the coastal and coastal mountain range of the Valparaíso Region, according to the most recent estimates of both models. In these regions, peak rainfall is expected between early morning and the morning of Friday, June 21.
