For the first time in the US, Telemundo presents the reality The Island: extreme challenge starting Tuesday, July 30 at 7pm.
Hosted by Javier Poza, under the executive production of Francisco “Cisco” Suárez, executive VP of Primetime Non-Scripted Programming, The island: extreme challenge is a sports competition produced by Acunmedya for Telemundo.
This reality presents 24 participants who will face the most extreme challenges of physical and mental survival in wild and remote places on the beaches, mountains and forests of Turkey in search of a prize of US$200,000.
“This new format comes to our screen introducing elements of travel, survival and a lot of drama of coexistence between personalities. We are excited to welcome a diverse and impressive group of participants to the home of realities to kick off this new adventure that will surely captivate our audience,” said Ronald Day, president of Entertainment and Chief Content Officer from Telemundo.
24 PARTICIPANTS DIVIDED INTO THREE TEAMS
The program will have 24 participants, who will form three teams, including Los Águilas, Los Tiburones, and Las Panteras. Each week, the teams will begin competing in the game for the territory that will determine what conditions they will live in that week, whether it is Playa Alta with all the amenities, Playa Medio with few amenities or Playa Baja without any amenities. In the coming days the participants of the competition will be revealed.
Poza, who recently joined Telemundo to host The Island: Extreme Challengeis a popular Mexican radio and TV personality known for his interesting and revealing interviews.
