The rector of the University of Córdoba, Jairo Torres Oviedo apologized to the citizens, due to the riots carried out by a group of hooded people inside and outside the university campus in Monteria.
The alterations have been recorded since last June 17. However, on the afternoon of last Wednesday (June 19) the panorama was more intense, after attacks against the infrastructure of the institution and blockades were recorded on the Cereté – Montería road.
“This is not the university that we are building, the university that we are building is the one you know, a university with academic leadership, with scientific leadership, a university strengthened in its missionary processes, in which we have made immense progress in student well-being, that is to say, This is a university that has a capacity that is at the service of the training and transformation of the poorest young people in this region.“, indicated Torres Oviedo.
These statements were delivered within the framework of the session of the Superior Council of Unicórdoba, in which the new student representatives took office before this collegiate body, Javier Gorrostola Camargo and Eylen Oviedo Padrón.

Finally, it was reported that the library building was vandalized, “burning the access control and door of the Systems Office, detonating explosive devices inside it, as well as in the Administrative building and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, attacking the physical integrity and health of officials, students and external personnel”Unicor pointed out.
