Discover the intercultural immersion of Canadian students in Manizales

Manizales reopens its doors to international students. This time Eight Canadian students and two teachers complete a global and intercultural skills internship in the region from June 16 to 29.

The visitors They come from Dalhousie University, Canada, and are welcomed by the Catholic University of Manizales.

Catherine Estradadirector of the Manizales University Campus and companion of the process, highlights the leadership of the Catholic University led by Matias Marindirector of internationalization of the institution.

“A process of intercultural immersion was achieved, in which there are several axes: the ccultural knowledge of our land, geopolitics and academic activities linked to Spanish lessons” Estrada expands.

Daniela Escalante Villaa professor at the Catholic University, explains that the higher education institution is committed to the practice of receive students from other countries who want to learn Spanish.

The methodology is to use the iconic spaces of the city where the vocabulary learned in the classrooms can be applied.

The dream of Manizales University Campus for the second half of the year is to strengthen the relationship with Buenos Aires (Argentina) and carry out a city marketing visit.

Caterin Estrada mentions: “We hope to be able to bring the person who positions Buenos Aires as the top city in Latin America and number one in university cities. ANDWe are working with universities and we also hope to work hand in hand with the Mayor’s Office, the International Office”.

Therefore, the objective is to enrich the internationalization exercises of the institutions in Manizales and professionalize the topic.

We weren’t really sure what to expect because it’s our first experience, but we had the idea that it was very good because last year and the year before that other students came. So far we have found the Bosque Popular ecopark impressive, it is very beautiful. The Los Yarumos ecopark also amazed us with its natural beauty.
