One day, a man fell deeply in love with Inírida. He investigated everywhere looking for a formula to win the girl’s love. He learned to prepare a potion with puzana, a plant that grows in the Mavicure hills. But he didn’t know the recipe well and the potion turned out to be too strong.

It is said that the man managed to get Inírida to drink the potion, but the concoction was so powerful that it had a disastrous effect. Instead of falling in love, the princess lost her sanity, stopped distinguishing reality, and ran from one place to another without stopping. In her frenzy, she climbed Pajarito Hill and when she reached the top, she fainted.

The young man tried to follow her, but the hill is impossible to climb, being as slippery as soap. Only Inírida was able to reach the top. When she woke up, the young woman found herself alone and decided to live away from humans, turning the hill into her castle. That’s why she is considered a princess. Since then, she governs from there the beings that live around the hill: birds, plants, and terrestrial and aquatic animals.

It is said that from time to time the princess feels homesick for humans. Therefore, every time someone visits the hill, she must greet them with beautiful songs to brighten their day. Inírida, in gratitude, lets threads of water fall down the walls of the hill, looking like silver embroidery on the rocks, and she appears transformed into a beautiful flower: the flower of Inírida.
