Medellin, Antioquia

At least 19 villages in Anorí, a municipality in the northeast of Antioquia, remain cut off due to the blockades on the road that leads to the Dos Bocas district. as a consequence of the heavy rains and the suspension of the intervention by the National Disaster Risk Management Unit – UNGRD, after its corruption issues were uncovered.

According to what was expressed by Mayor Gustavo Alfredo Silva, The UNGRD had initially committed to 1,500 hours of machinery to remove material and recover mobility along the blocked roads, but they were only sent a machine with which they were unable to advance to enable these corridors.

“We were victims of what happened in Bogotá with Risk Management. They had guaranteed us 1,500 hours of machinery to recover these roads that had gone through a very strong winter season and they never delivered,” the mayor explained.

The president assures that, although they have had support from the Government of Antioquia through its Infrastructure Secretariat, to carry out work on the road to the Dos Bocas township and the road to Campamento, the same The support of the National Disaster Risk Management Unit is necessary, which is why they have made multiple requests but there remains no response.

“Mr. Olmedo was in the municipality of Anorí, The photo was taken there and he promised military bridges, a lot of machinery and that was never fulfilled. Here there is no fault of anyone in the municipality, it is directly from Bogotá that they left us badly,” he added.

UNGRD suspended resources from Corantioquia and Corpourabá

The National Disaster Risk Management Unit had already suspended resources to Corantioquia for 97 billion pesos and to Corporurabá for 43 billion pesos, Therefore, the territorial entities asked to separate the political issue and allocate resources, because they are necessary to attend to emergencies in more than 100 municipalities of Antioquia.

Only in the jurisdiction of Corantioquia There are 80 municipalities, of which Anorí is a part, and which at this moment express their needs to be able to address the effects caused by heavy rainfall.

Although the Government is making progress in caring for the more than 70 thousand victims left by the rains, some localities are beginning to feel that capacity is overflowing.
