In the XXL weekend, Córdoba registered a great movement of visitors

During the extra-long weekend, Córdoba Capital stood out and positioned itself as an important tourist destination, reaching a hotel occupancy of 75% by Friday night, according to preliminary data collected by the Tourism Observatory, dependent on the Undersecretariat of Tourism of the Municipality of Córdoba. This percentage is expected to be even higher.

This record reflects the number of tourists who stayed in formal hotels, including those who chose to stay in relatives’ homes or other accommodation options.

Marcelo Valdomero, undersecretary of Tourism of the city, highlighted the importance of organizing events, such as the La Renga show at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium, in attracting tourists.

Valdomero stated: “These attributes, added to the wide offer in terms of historical and cultural heritage, gastronomy, parks and walks, make Córdoba one of the preferred urban destinations to enjoy during this time of year.”

The preliminary study revealed that 91% of the tourists who visited the city are Argentine, and more than half of them, 51%, come from the province of Buenos Aires, followed by tourists from the provinces of Santa Fe and Mendoza. , respectively.

Featured activities for the extra long weekend

The Municipality of Córdoba has organized a series of cultural and recreational activities for visitors.

Among them, two free guided tours are offered for lovers of historical and cultural heritage. One of the tours, “Walk through Nueva Córdoba”, will take place on Saturday, June 22 at 4 p.m., departing from the Güemes Tourist Information Office.

The itinerary includes Plazoleta Vélez Sarsfield, Avenida Hipólito Yrigoyen, Patio Olmos, the Archbishopric of Córdoba, Paseo del Buen Pastor and the Church of the Capuchin.

In addition, traditional guided tours of the San Jerónimo Cemetery will be held on Saturday, at 9, 11, 2 and 3 p.m. This tour will allow visitors to learn the stories behind the tombs, guided by experts such as Graciela Pedraza and Federico Sylvester. Visits to the cemetery are free and require prior registration through WhatsApp.

Tourists will also be able to enjoy the various proposals in museums, cultural centers and theaters, as well as outdoor walks through the different recovered parks and visits to the Botanical Garden.

Córdoba’s gastronomic offer complements the activities, allowing visitors to enjoy the rich local cuisine.
