For this project, an investment of $76 billion is planned and a schedule that will cover 20 months.

In a meeting led by the Oriente Airport Concession, and with the presence of representatives of the Santa Marta Mayor’s Office, the expansion works of the Simón Bolívar Airport in Santa Marta, its strategic plan and work schedule were discussed.

It was learned that authorization has already been requested from the National Infrastructure Agency, ANI, to expand the terminal, an environmental license for the landing strip, in addition to improvements in air conditioning and vehicular access.

“We receive with satisfaction the support of the office secretaries, who have given us their support to continue working hand in hand to promote development in the city,” said AeroOriente through its X account.

Among the works that are sought to be carried out is the expansion of the airport’s National and International departure lounge, which will go from 1,200 square meters to 3,600, tripling its current capacity. In addition, the restaurant area will be expanded, in order to offer a greater gastronomic variety, which will allow greater comfort and improve the passenger experience.

On the other hand, improvements will be implemented in the filter system and access control, increasing efficiency and security at the airport.

For this project, an investment of $76 billion is planned and a work schedule that will cover 20 months, that is, a completion scheduled for April 2026.
