A tribute to the beloved journalist Pedro de la Hoz, who died on June 5, will take place at the headquarters of the Granma Newspaper, next Tuesday, June 25, at 10:00 am, as part of the posthumous honors paid to him by his co-workers, after 35 years of uninterrupted journalism in the pages of the newspaper.

The center opens its doors to family, friends and colleagues who wish to share stories about this intellectual, considered a teacher of Cuban journalists and art critics.

De la Hoz, who began his work at the newspaper in 1988, received the José Martí National Journalism Award, the highest distinction awarded by the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) in the country, with which he went on to form part of the constellation of illustrious journalists and photojournalists of the medium with that very high recognition.

On this date, he arrived at what he considered his second home, where he had been invited to work by the paradigmatic Moncada journalist, Marta Rojas Rodríguez, with whom he would be united by a close friendship, as well as with Rolando Pérez Betancourt, who at that time occupied the position of Head of the Cultural Editorial.

For 11 years, De la Hoz also took on the challenge of leading the newsroom, without ever abandoning his intense journalistic production, which he delved into through criticism of music, entertainment, television and cultural policy issues.
