The inauguration of the JDF coincided with Flag Day and took place at the Provincial Basketball Federation. The ceremony was attended by prominent representatives of the pharmaceutical and political sphere, including the president of the Argentine Pharmaceutical Confederation (COFA), Ricardo Pesenti; the vice president of the pharmaceutical entity, Jorge Bordón; the general secretary of COFA, Claudia Martino; the mayor of San Salvador de Jujuy, Raúl “Chuli” Jorge; the president of the Jujuy Pharmaceutical College (Colfarjuy), Gustavo Martínez, and the general secretary of Colfarjuy, Mara Sarnachiaro.
Also present were the Secretary of Sports of the Province, Leandro Calvetti; the Secretary of Planning and Infrastructure of Jujuy, Ramiro Tejeda; the general director of Sports of the Municipality of San Salvador de Jujuy, Kity Conde; and the director of Children’s and Youth Sports of the Province, Luis Calvetti, among others.
This event, organized by the COFA and the Jujuy Pharmaceutical College, is coordinated by the Jujuy Athletics Association for sports disciplines, under the supervision of Professor Pablo Corradini and the Colfarjuy sports delegate, Fabiana Lafuente.
The participating delegations come from various regions of the country: Capital Federal, Buenos Aires, Chaco, Chubut, Córdoba, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Formosa, Jujuy, La Rioja, Mendoza, Misiones, Río Negro, Rosario (Santa Fe), Salta, San Juan, San Luís, Santa Cruz and Tucumán.
The president of Colfarjuy, Gustavo Martínez, expressed his joy at the call and highlighted the importance of these meetings in difficult times. “We are here because, despite adversity, we always find a way to meet as colleagues and friends of many years. I hope you enjoy Jujuy,” said Martínez.
Mayor Raúl Jorge, in his speech, recalled the milestones of the capital of Jujuy, mentioning the Basketball Federation and the different sectors where the competitions are held. He thanked the visitors for coming to discover the beauty of northern Argentina and its people. Subsequently, he delivered the Municipal Interest decree to the presidents of the COFA and Colfarjuy, recognizing the importance of the 27th edition of the JDF in Jujuy.
Ricardo Pesenti, president of COFA, thanked the organization and praised Colfarjuy’s dedication. “Despite the difficulties we face, pharmacists want to see each other and share our experiences. This is the spirit that has sustained these games for 27 years,” declared Pesenti enthusiastically.
The opening ceremony culminated with a colorful celebration between devils, carnivals and flags, giving way to the sports competitions. At night, a welcome cocktail was also offered to participants in a special event at the Sandoval Complex, in Capital City.
The first discipline was athletics, followed by soccer, basketball, paddle tennis, tennis and volleyball. For Saturday, ballroom, golf, fishing, swimming competitions are planned, as well as individual and team finals. In addition, the FAR.CA.VI Walk will take place. (Pharmacists for Quality of Life), open to the public, which will begin at 4 p.m. in the Parque Lineal Xibi Xibi, between Hipólito Yrigoyen and Pueyrredón avenues.
The Jujuy 2024 Pharmaceutical Sports Games not only represent an opportunity for sports competition, but also to strengthen ties of friendship and camaraderie among pharmaceutical professionals from across the country, celebrating together the spirit of sport and unity.
