During the Security and Citizen Coexistence Council that was held this Friday, with the participation of the Police, the Army, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Ombudsman’s Office, the figures of crimes that have had a decrease were revealed, such as theft that reduced by 17%.
The space was led by the Secretary of the Interior and Citizen Participation of the Government of Córdoba, Gabriel Méndez Pineda, who highlighted the advances in security in the department.
“Homicides decreased by 20% and extortion showed a significant drop of more than 80%. These results reflect the positive impact of the security strategies implemented,” said Méndez Pineda, who added that during the 2024 Livestock Fair, a coordinated prevention campaign was implemented between the Police and the Government of Córdoba that had a notable effect on these results. .
“This close and articulated strategy has facilitated greater access to justice and protection measures for citizens. Despite a slight increase in the reporting of cases of personal injuries, domestic violence and sexual crimes, these figures reflect a positive change towards a culture of reporting and protection,” said the secretary.
