This Friday, a 36-year-old man, identified as Yosley Hernández, lost his life after an explosion in ammunition factory number four of the “Ernesto Che Guevara” Military Industrial Company (EMI), located in the La Campana community, in the Villa Clara town of Manicaragua.

Hernández, a resident of Potrero Grande, was handling a projectile sample when it exploded, killing him instantly.

A co-worker tried to help him, carrying him until the ambulance arrived, but the efforts were in vain.

Dozens of comments on social networks from family, friends and work colleagues confirm the impact of his loss. A Facebook user, identified as Héctor Tol Etón, was one of the first to report the incident, detailing that a sample of projectile had exploded and that Hernández had received the fatal impact.

“Good coworker, we are very sorry for your loss, rest in peace,” one person wrote in the comments.

Another user, a former employee of the company, warned about the frequency of these accidents in the factory: “This type of accident happens very frequently in that company, I worked there and I thank God that I never did it in dangerous places.” .

Hernández’s relatives have demanded an explanation for what happened. “We deserve an explanation for what happened, cousin, we are going to miss you, it is a very strong pain for all of us who love you,” said a close friend on social networks.

So far, official media have not provided additional details or issued statements about the incident.

The Military Industrial Company “Ernesto Che Guevara” was inaugurated in 1964, originally under the name of the defense media production factory “La Campana” and later renamed in honor of the Czechoslovak journalist Julius Fučík.

In the 80s, it acquired its current name. The facility employs more than 1,000 workers and has been an economic pillar for the community, generating a population settlement with several multi-family buildings with a prefabricated structure.
