Several walls of a condominium in Placilla de Peñuelas, commune of Valparaíso, fell in the last few hours due to “oversaturation of the slope due to falling water” during the frontal system that continues to affect, mainly, the central area, reported Ubaldo González. , in charge of the Risk and Disaster Management Department of the Buenos Aires municipality.

“We have data that in Placilla it has rained more than 90 millimeters,” an accumulation that caused the aforementioned slope to end up giving way, which “is right on the edge of a housing complex, where the parking lots are located, but also toward the other side we have residential patio,” he added.

Rodrigo Rodríguez, representative of the residents of the “Cumbre de Curauma III” condominium, reported that “since yesterday, as a result of the frontal system, we suffered, on the part of the condominium next door, a landslide, from the tambourines; later, it fell off another sector”. Likewise, he expressed his fear of a possible impact on energy and drinking water services.

The municipal official highlighted that “the emergency teams have already reviewed the place, made the first diagnoses and carried out mitigation measures to avoid accidents.” The next stage will be the creation of a working group with the neighbors.
