Uniformed police officers carrying out checks on the occasion of the Sampedrina festivities, stopped two cargo vehicles that after verifying them They confirmed that inside they had 4,500 kilos of marijuana apparently coming from the department of Cauca.
The discovery of the gigantic shipment of the hallucinogen took place on a road that connects Neiva with the municipality of Palermo, in the north of Huila and according to official information they intended to take it to the interior of the country.
Once they inspected the two vehicles, the uniformed officers found that the narcotic seized was distributed in 84 sacks and would be valued at approximately 8.5 billion pesos.
“On the road that leads from Neiva to the municipality of Palermo, the police achieved an important result: the seizure of nearly four and a half tons of marijuana, the immobilization of three vehicles and a motorcycle, “This hallucinogen has a value of over 8,000 million pesos,” said Colonel Alexander Castillo, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police.
The vehicles immobilized along with the 4,500 kilos of marijuana seized by the policeremained at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office for the respective judicialization process.
Other seizures
In another similar operation, Huila Police officers seized nearly two tons of marijuana from Cauca last Thursday. with a value of 2,000 million pesos that were distributed in three vehicles in the municipality of Garzón, center of the department.
It is important to mention that in less than a week, six and a half tons of marijuana have been seized on Huila roads. and the capture of several people and so far in 2024 a total of 22 tons of this hallucinogen have been seized.
