Practical guide for the night of San Juan in La Rioja

With an ancient tradition, the night of San Juan, between June 23 and 24, celebrates a magical evening linked to bonfires to invoke good luck and ward off bad spirits and bad fortune. The night of San Juan commemorates the arrival of the solstice summer throughout the Spanish geography with ancestral rites and traditions, with deep roots in the Mediterranean area, but with increasingly more popularity in the Riojan towns.

In Arnedo, what will happen this Monday, starting at 7:30 am, will be the distribution of chocolate at Puerta Munillo. In the case of Autol, a monologue with Alfonso Gurrea has been planned in the Parque de los Picuezos (22 hours), queimada and lavapiés in the Cidacos. In Aldeanueva de Ebro, the party will begin at 9 p.m. with bonfires in the bullring.
