Adrián Gutiérrez, mayor of Puerto Salgar, confirms the closure of the road to Guaduas, at kilometer 12 (Sardinata viaduct), due to the sliding of large rocks. The president recommends taking alternative routes.
The fall of earth and rock on the Ruta del Sol road, between the municipalities of Guaduas and Puerto Salgar, Cundinamarca, has congested other roads in the department of Tolima.
“It was reported a large collapse of material due to the rains this Sunday“said Miguel Bermudez, operational director of Transit in Tolima.
“Due to this situation, the road section between Puerto Salgar and Guaduas, in the area of the Sardinatas viaduct, remains closed, and it is important to note that this road leads to the Atlantic Coast and Bogotá,” the official added.
The emergency forces drivers to take the Guaduas-Honda-La Dorada-Puerto Salgar road section.
There is already machinery working in the area.

The National Highway Institute (Invías) reported that due to the size of the rocks, there is a total closure at kilometer 12 of the important route that moves much of the national transportation.
Invías moved backhoes and dump trucks to the area to clear the road.

Those who did not know about the accident at the site have reported with photos and videos how the road is located.
The authorities recommend taking the alternate route Guaduas- Honda- Dorada-Puerto Salgar, in addition to being aware of the information that Invías reports, through its X profile: numeral 767.
