The House of Culture of the San Miguelito Neighborhood continues with the activities to celebrate its 30th anniversary, which it has celebrated with a wide variety of events, and this Tuesday, June 25, starting at 7:30 p.m., the talk will take place “My father’s experiences with his teacher Don Julián Carrillo”.

This event, which will have free entry for all the public who wish to attend and be part of this celebration, will be led by Don Saulo Vidales, originally from AhualulcoSan Luis Potosí, who as a countryman of Don Julian Carrillo He had the privilege of knowing him and living with him a little in stages of his life.

Throughout this talk, anecdotes will be told about the life of the creator of the Sound 13 by one of the people who was close to the native of Ahualulco, who witnessed the experiences of his father, who as a student of the illustrious Potosí native, -candidate for the Nobel Prize in physics- lived by being his disciple.

Julián Carrillo was born on January 28, 1875, leaving this world on September 9, 1965, he was a Mexican composer, conductor, violinist and scientist within the international avant-garde movement, considered by several specialists as one of the most important composers in the country and an important pioneer of the microtonalism.

He carried out research on microtonalism since the late 19th century and developed the theory of Sound 13, the first attempt to formalize the systematic study of microtonalism. He was director of National Conservatory of Music and the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico and founded the Beethoven Symphony Orchestra and the Sound 13 Orchestra, based in New York.
