On this Sunday morning, Troops from the 23rd Infantry Battalion of the Third Brigade managed to stop a truck loaded with explosives that intended to attack one of their facilities in Cartago (Valle del Cauca). The truck was made available to the corresponding authorities to carry out the investigation.

The institution reported through a statement that thanks to information provided by the community and intelligence work, they managed to deploy a security operation to find the location of the truck that was loaded with explosives. “Thanks to the information received by the community, the location of a LMN 035 license plate truck with a means of launch inside was achieved,” the Army reported.

At this time, the Army and the National Police are deploying an operation to secure the road that connects Cartago with Ansermanuevo. So far the institution has not confirmed who this attempted explosion belongs to, however, in recent weeks different municipalities in Valle del Cauca have been the target of attacks by the Central General Staff.

In the last hours, an explosive attack was also recorded in Robles, Valle del Cauca. Given this, the Mayor’s Office of Jamundí arranged an Air Force team to support the security and control of the area, especially in the township park, which is where the attacks have been perpetuated by one of the dissidents of the FARC.
