A landslide of significant proportions between the towns of Recetor and Chámeza (Casanare) was cleared and vehicular traffic was restored.

At dawn this Sunday, vehicles and passengers traveling between the towns of Recetor and Chámeza, in the southwest of Casanare, had to suspend their journey due to a landslide that occurred at the El Espejo site, an area where removal is constantly taking place. of material, product of a geological fault.

Thanks to the timely intervention with yellow machinery from the municipality of Recetor and the transfer of machinery dedicated to Disaster Risk Management of the department, it was possible to support the removal of debris on the main road from San Benito in the middle of this Sunday afternoon. (Recetor) and Chámeza communicates to the departments of Casanare and Boyacá through the town of Páez.

Given the mobility difficulties due to the closure of the Sisga transversal, this road becomes vital for the transport of goods and passengers between the two departments.

Currently, a project is being carried out to adapt the road to the pavement in a section of 4.25 kilometers, of the 12 that separate the urban area of ​​Chámeza from the Upía River, which, in addition, is projected as the Cusiana-Miraflores sector road corridor. San Benito-Recetor, which has a length of close to 42 kilometers.

The work represents the only project approved for Casanare within the Peace Agreements, which prioritized it as the ‘path to peace’, the result of the implementation of said agreements with a cost of 14,226 million pesos.
