These initiatives, which are being developed throughout the country, seek to improve the practices of officials in relation to the role they play in accessing citizen information.

“In 2023 alone, the State Transparency Portal received more than 7.5 million visits, which reflects the eagerness of citizens to access some information from different public organizations. Therefore, it is essential that public officials who are in charge of keeping information available and answering people’s specific requests for information are constantly improving their skills and knowledge. For example, being up to date with the changes and obligations that we are implementing in terms of active transparency, through our new general instruction, is necessary so that officials can provide a better service in their daily work,” said the president of the Council. for Transparency, Bernardo Navarrete.

For his part, the person in charge of the Valparaíso Regional Unit, Nicolas Vallejos, added: “For us, transparency and access to information are fundamental pillars for efficient public management that is close to citizens. That is why, through this alliance with the Council for Transparency, we provide technical support and advice through training, workshops and other activities to officials. In this way, we are working to improve the quality of information available to citizens and, consequently, strengthening trust in government institutions.”

On the occasion, the new publication standards that have been in force since the entry into force of the new General Instruction on Active Transparency of the CPLT for all public services audited under the Transparency Law were especially addressed.

In another line, the efforts made by citizens to request public information were evaluated and the participants had space for questions and doubts.

These trainings are part of the joint work and commitment of the Council for Transparency and SUBDERE to promote transparency and access to public information in the country’s public services, which have already been developed in other regions of Chile such as O ‘Higgins, Los Lagos, Magallanes, among others.
