Subject flouted the ‘house for jail’ measure and was surprised traveling to Cúcuta

A man who had a security measure in his place of residence in Bucaramanga, was captured in the municipality of Pamplona, ​​Norte de Santander, when he was traveling on a bus to the border area.

The arrest for the crime of prisoner escape was achieved by the Transit and Transportation Section of the Norte de Santander Police, in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Pamplona, ​​on the road between Bucaramanga and Cúcuta.

The arrested person responds to the name of Ismael Castaño Hernández, 40 years old, who had to serve a sentence for the crime of reception with a non-custodial security measure at his residence in Bucaramanga.

However, the subject took a bus at the Transportation Terminal in the capital of Santander heading to the city of Cúcuta and is believed to be passing towards the border area.

Major José Daniel Ortiz Soto, Traffic Chief of the Norte de Santander Police, assured that the arrest was achieved during a check on the road axes and Castaño Hernández was traveling in a public transport vehicle.

“The uniformed officers asked him for permission to travel and he told them not to have it, which is why they captured him flagrante delicto and he will respond for a new crime,” said the officer.

After being found outside his place of residence, he must now answer to the Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of prisoner escape.

He was detained at the Pamplona Police Station while it is determined whether the measure of house arrest will be maintained or whether he will be sent to a detention center.
