This is the millionaire prize that Colombia could win if it wins the Copa América 2024

Starting this Thursday, June 20, the Copa América, the oldest tournament at the national team level, is being played. This event has been contested since 1916, and this edition is being played in the United States.

One of the favorites to win the title is the Colombian National Team, which comes into this match undefeated in 23 games, which puts it on par with teams such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

The team led by Néstor Lorenzo will debut against the Paraguayan national team this Monday, June 24. This match will be played in the NGR Stadium in the United States.

In the last hours, the money that Conmebol will give to the winner of the tournament was revealed. In total 72 million dollars will be awarded, but this figure includes participation fees and prizes to the teams. If the Colombian National Team wins the Copa América, it would win a prize of 16 million dollars.

It should be noted that the remaining $40 million will be distributed as additional prizes.

This is how the prizes will be distributed

  • Teams in the quarterfinals will receive two million dollars.
  • The team that comes in fourth place will get four millions.
  • Third team will be given five million dollars.
  • The runner-up of the tournament would receive the total of seven million dollars.
