The uniformed officers were alerted to a robbery that had occurred in Hatonuevo, where three men, traveling on a black Suzuki motorcycle, stripped two citizens of their mobile phones and fled along the National Highway towards the municipality of Barrancas.
Faced with this situation, the patrols implemented the padlock plan to prevent those responsible from escaping and recovering the stolen objects. A quadrant, which was located in the township of Papayal, He observed the suspects traveling on the motorcycle, to whom they gave a stop sign, but they did not stop their march, making it necessary to follow them to Calle 7 and Carrera 3 in Barrancas, where they proceeded to arrest them.
Those captured were identified as Janer Urbaez Jiménez, Álvaro Daniel Álvarez Ortega and Miguel Alfonso Brito Olmoswho were identified by the victims as those responsible for the theft of their mobile phone equipment and expressed their intention to file the corresponding complaint.
For this reason, the police notified the three people of their rights as prisoners for the crime of theft and placed them at the disposal of the URI Prosecutor’s Office of San Juan del Cesar.
