More than 20 cultural agents from the Aysén Region, from La Junta to Coyhaique, met in Puerto Raúl Marín Balmaceda to participate in the Territorial Meeting with Northern Identity. This event, organized by the Citizenship Department of the Seremi de Culturas Aysén, was developed through the Culture Network and Strengthening Regional Cultural Identity programs. The delegations of Coyhaique, Aysén, Cisnes and the Las Guaitecas archipelago crossed the Palena River to collaborate with local cultural agents on artistic, cultural and heritage projects.
Felipe Quiroz, seremi of Culturas Aysén, highlighted the importance of these meetings: “It is essential that cultural agents from all the communes of the Aysén Region can meet. In October we will have the Regional Meeting with Identity in Villa O’Higgins. These meetings strengthen cultural networks and develop capacities in the territories, allowing teams to work with updated tools.”
María Antonieta Inostroza, cultural manager of Puerto Cisnes, valued the coherence of Red Cultura with local cultural plans, based on community and heritage needs. Jimena Muñoz, from the Group of Spanish Folklore Cultivators in Puerto Aysén, highlighted the richness of sharing experiences with other cultural agents. Samir Barrientos, in charge of Culture of the Municipality of Guaitecas, stressed the importance of planning cultural initiatives together for the substantive development of the region.
