The Tourist Photography Contest of the Provincial Council of Córdoba incorporates the short video category

The Provincial Council of Córdobathrough the Provincial Tourism Board, has called the second edition of its tourist photography contestan activity with which it aims to promote the monumental, cultural, natural and landscape values, as well as the festivals and traditions of the Córdoba municipalities.

This was expressed by the vice president of this body of the provincial institution, Narci Ruiz, who announced that “on this occasion, we are incorporating into this proposal the name of short videos (no more than 60 seconds), a new category with which we encourage citizens to participate in a new format, dynamic and creative and, of course, open to social networks.”

Ruiz has specified that “another novelty of this second contest is the inclusion of the category of Gastronomy and tourist experiences in the photography section, thus adding to the existing ones of Cultural, heritage and festivals and traditions, Natural and landscape. “Likewise, each participant will be able to submit a maximum of three photographs and a maximum of two short videos, and may have the option of submitting the same image in two different categories,” he noted.

Technical specifications and awards

In relation to the technical specifications, the contest rules establish that The photographs submitted must not have been awarded in another contest or contest whether as a prize, runner-up or finalist and the photographic technique will be free.

Color photographs will be accepted, only the digital format will existly, digital editing is permitted, although not manipulation, elimination, or the addition of elements foreign to the captured image. The contest includes 30 prizesnine photography and five video, plus seven second prizes for regional photography recognitions.

In the case of photography, The first prize is 1,500 euros; 1,000, the second and 650, the third. Likewise, second prizes will be awarded for the seven provincial regions, which will entail a financial prize. For the short videosthe prizes will be 1,200 (first), 700 (second), 350 (third) and two second prizes, 150 euros.

The submission of applications can be made from the day following publication in the BOP, until August 31 inclusive, in the General Registry of the Córdoba Tourism Board or through the Electronic Registry of this provincial body.

Regarding the objectives of this activity, the Tourism delegate of the Provincial Council of Córdoba has indicated that “we want, once again, to contribute to the dissemination of the tourist resources of our municipalitiesoffering the opportunity to discover new enclaves, corners and traditions, thereby promoting the flow of visitors.”

In short, according to Ruiz, “we want to value the province of Córdoba, promoting the local tourism, with the development of new projects that increase the flow from the capital to the province. And we do it by paying attention to the participation of our citizens, who know each town best.”

In his speech he also recalled that “the launch of this second edition also takes into account the great success achieved in the first, with a total of 336 photographs presented, 144 of Monumental and cultural; 113 of Natural and Landscape and 79 of Festivals and Traditions”.
