Fifty fifth grade students from the Teniente Merino school, in the city of Cochrane, visited the provincial office of the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF), within the framework of the Environmental Education Program, an activity that is organized annually.

The visit began at the Ñire 8 brigade, at the Cochrane provincial office, and later at the Cochrane nursery. On the occasion, a talk was held about the work and history of the Corporation. In addition to a description of forest ecosystems, the risks associated with them, ways to maintain their conservation and sustainable use.

The activities were carried out thanks to the coordination and joint work of the Forest Fire Prevention departments; Conservation of forest and xerophytic systems; Forest plantation restoration and management program; of the Cochrane Intervention Area and the Tree Plantation Program, and especially of the workers Saúl Mora, Brigade Chief; Yuri Mancilla Vera, Provincial Head(s) and Nicolás Marín, head of the Cochrane Restoration Intervention Area.
