PUCV Open Platform has 27 free online courses for the entire community

The Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso inaugurated the new version of the PUCV Abierta platform with 27 free online courses that are available to the entire community interested in acquiring knowledge and practical tools on different contingent fields, such as Entrepreneurship and Professional Development, Education, Art and Culture, Sustainability and Environment, Social Sciences and Humanities, Science and Technology.

From all over Chile and abroad it is possible to access the course offering that the educational institution has created in a comprehensible and universal format with the purpose of expanding the horizons of knowledge for all those who want to develop skills in different disciplines.

The PUCV Virtual Classroom Platform for Continuing Training is now available through the website https://pucvabierta.cl/ where interested parties must create a username and password to begin.

Since 2017, when the university created the initiative, a total of 96,554 enrollees have taken the subjects, of which 75,618 are foreigners and 19,952 Chilean residents.

This year the offer has been expanded to new areas that today’s world demands, which is why the 27 courses address the foundations and functions of each topic.

David Contreras, general director of Environmental Linkage, indicated that “providing courses open to the entire community, without the need for prerequisites, is an opportunity that the PUCV makes available to the local, national and international population.”

“We invite you all to access the open online courses that the university offers within the framework of the fundamental mission of the institution, which is articulation and connection with the environment.”

At the end of each program, those enrolled will have the option of accessing a university certification.
