He Third Oral Criminal Court of Santiago issued acquittal for Rodrigo del Vallebusinessman and ex-partner of the Brazilian model Nayara Vit, who died on July 7, 2021 after falling from the 12th floor of the building in Las Condes where they both lived.

Remy-Mayllet defended the work of the prosecution, highlighting the difficulties faced during the two months of presenting evidence. “We believe that in these situations there is always 50 and 50”he declared, expressing confidence in the efforts made not only by the Flagrancy Prosecutor’s Office, but also by the Gender Prosecutor’s Office and the Victims and Witnesses Unit, which provided essential support to many witnesses who “found it very difficult to appear at this trial to testify.”
The prosecutor stressed the importance of “minority vote” in court, which supported the arguments of the Public Ministry regarding bias and gender perspective, and emphasized the courage of “mainly those who listened that night on July 7, 2021”this given that they were the same residents of the building who made “a call for public safety in order to save a life”after hearing the model’s screams.
