National public works paralyzed: in Greater Santa Fe, nearly 3,000 jobs were lost

The largely paralyzed public work is a topic on the current agenda, with a latest agreement in which Nation is committed to following and financing plays in Santa Fe territory. Due to the paralysis of the sector, the local Construction Chamber stated that 3,000 jobs were lost in the Greater Santa Fe.

Governor Maximiliano Pullaro signed last Tuesday with the Chief of Staff of the Nation, Guillermo Francos, the agreement that establishes the continuity of the public works that the national government was executing in Santa Fe territory, and determines which works will be completed and financed by the Nation and which They will be transferred to the provincial government for completion.

Despite this announced agreement, the Santa Fe Construction Chamber was skeptics regarding works that depend directly on the Nation, casting doubt on their implementation.

Public works for the Assa water treatment plant, financed with national funds, halted to minimum work.

The honorary president of the Santa Fe Construction Chamber, Roberto Pilatti, spoke with LT 10 and stated: “The situation in the sector is very worrying, 80,000 jobs have been lost nationwide and in Santa Fe the situation is “The same in what are national works. In provincial works at the beginning of January there were conversations with the provincial government which allowed the works that are stopped to be reactivated.”

Doubts in the construction sector

Asked about the sector’s expectations regarding the series of works in which the Nation committed to continue with the work and financing in conjunction with the province, Pilatti remarked: “There is an expectation regarding the works that are transferred to the province, provincial officials do “They have been trying to negotiate with the Nation for a while without finding much of a response. If the province says “I am going to take charge of such a project,” I have absolute confidence that it will do it.

“In the case of the Nation I have my doubts, until now nothing has come from budget allocations for the works that have been underway for nine months, not only from this new government. I highly doubt they will get going,” he said.

Public works in the province

Nation committed to ending the expansion work of the Assa water treatment planta project that has been paralyzed since the beginning of the year and is barely 15 percent complete.

Meanwhile, the province promised to finish in the city of Santa Fe the lighting on Circunvalación Avenue, work that is advanced in some sections. This is the new LED lighting system, in the 11,600 meter stretch between the AP-01 Provincial Highway and the “Camino Mauro” in the city of Recreo.

The provincial government defined that “the agreement allows the Province of Santa Fe to advance alternatives to provide continuity to the works that were being carried out.”

Province will take charge of some works

After the meeting, in a conversation with the media, Pullaro stated: “Some works will be completed by the provincial government, those related to housing, sanitation works, school buildings; and others will be completed by the Nation, mainly those related to the repair of production routes, through which 70% of the cereals, of the wealth, of the Argentine Republic leaves, which are in very bad condition. The national government will begin with the repairs, a significant investment.”

He then pointed out that work is also being done on “an agreement for the Nation to transfer the national routes to the provinces, in order to be able to reconstruct the entire interport complex, which at the moment, although it may seem unbelievable, are dirt roads.”
