A man identified as Martiniano Santander Vásquez, died at the Santander University Hospital from a gunshot wound. Apparently, he was shot by mistake.
The Sijin of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police is carrying out investigations to clarify the homicide of Martiniano Santander Vásquez, a 79-year-old man, who lived in the Comuneros neighborhood north of Bucaramanga and was an independent merchant.
The events occurred at 1:45 pm this Tuesday, June 25, on 7th Street between Carreras 20 and 21 in the Comuneros neighborhood north of Bucaramanga, when armed individuals shot at Santander Vásquez.
The projectiles hit the abdomen and right hand. He was transferred to the Santander University Hospital, HUS, where he later died due to the severity of his injuries.

However, the information collected preliminarily indicates that the bullets were not directed at the deceased but at another person.
In the same incident, 18-year-old Yhonny Jackson Blanco Quiñónez, a recycler who was born in Venezuela and also lived in the Comuneros neighborhood, was injured.
He has an injury to his right arm that was not serious. According to witnesses, Blanco Quiñónez took refuge in the older adult’s house and they went there to look for him.
“The injured person told us that he had had problems or quarrels with other subjects days ago, who arrived at the scene and began to argue. The other subjects, without saying a word, brandish a firearm and activate it on several occasions, causing the wound in the arm and also injuring the older adult, who upon being transferred to the HUS arrived without vital signs,” the Police stated in the report.

The motives have yet to be established and the individuals who shot the victims are fugitives from justice.
A motorcycle would have been left at the scene that, apparently, belonged to the criminals, but more details were awaited as the investigations progress.
