Almost two months after Felicitas Alvitethe influencer of The Silver nicknamed “La Toretto”, was arrested for killing a motorcyclist in April of this year, the Criminal Chamber confirmed preventive detention. Nevertheless, The judge raised the possibility that the young woman could benefit from house arrest in the future.
Through a resolution issued by Chamber III, it was determined that Alvite continues to be housed in the Alcaidía N°3 by Melchor Romero until the judicial process ends, because the young woman is accused of intentional homicide. Likewise, the Guarantee judge, Marcela Garmendiahighlighted the good behavior that the detainee has had.
Regarding the possibility that the influencer would benefit from house arrest, the judge pointed out that the decision will depend on the results of a series of tests that she ordered to establish the conditions in which she is found. The judge even requested a socio-environmental report, which is required.
According to information published by the DIB Agency, no deadline was established to define the measure. However, the authorities recognized that the young woman collaborated with the investigation from the first moment, at the same time that she agreed to surrender on May 2 when they ordered her capture.
The prosecutor in charge of the investigation, Fernando Padovan, charged Alvite with the crime of homicide with possible intent for running a dive, to the detriment of motorcyclist Walter Armand. For his part, the accused’s lawyer, Flavio Giemmodenied the figure given to his client by arguing that she had not participated in a street race.
In fact, the expertise carried out on Goal Trend that the influencer was driving on the night of the crime revealed that he was going about 83 km/h. “That cannot be considered the speed of the crash,” he argued, however, the Prosecutor’s Office relied on the images captured by security cameras in the area, where it was observed how the accused and another car crossed several traffic lights in red.
For her part, the influencer also denied having participated in a race during her preliminary investigation. According to reports, the young woman said that she was following another friend who was in the second vehicle, because she did not know the center of La Plata and did not know how to return to City Bell, the town where she lived. “I did not want to get lost and I ran red lights. I turned on the lights and passed by following my friend,” she said.
Another issue that he denied in his testimony is that the car was his by indicating that it belonged to a friend, but he was not in a position to drive due to the alcoholic beverages he had consumed at the party they attended. He even admitted that he was guilty of the incident and claimed to have suffered panic attacks because of what happened.
The road accident that caused Armand’s death occurred in the early morning of April 12 on 13th Avenue, between 531 and 532, when Alvite ran over the victim who was crossing 532 on his motorcycle. As a result of the impact, the man was thrown at high speed and was left lying on the asphalt, thus suffering instant death.
However, the case gained greater media relevance after it became known that the young woman was a well-known influencer in the region for the videos she uploaded on TikTok. In fact, one of them generated a stir because she claimed that she was the reincarnation of Toretto – the character from the Fast and Furious saga – when she was behind the wheel.
“Fear? It’s scary to go with me in the car because I’m a constant ‘he wants to run’ and I act like ‘Toretto’,” the young woman expressed. Currently, the account was deleted, but it was recorded that it had more than 40 thousand followers.
