The former sailor Carlos perez and his wife, dismissed municipal official Victoria Caillava, are detained on suspicion of having kidnapped Loan Danilo Peña and deliver it for trafficking purposes. A previously unreleased video from a security camera shows them in Chaco and with the red Ford Ka in which Justice found traces of the baby who has been missing for thirteen days.
The image shows the car entering a parking lot in the city of Resistencia, where the former military man rents an apartment. Pérez parked, got out and walked several meters to where his wife was waiting for him. Minutes later he returned to the car and opened the rear driver’s side door and lowered a small raft.
In another video from a security camera in the same building, Pérez, Caillava and the former sailor’s daughter are seen. There Pérez rents an apartment, in Necochea at 900 of the provincial capital.
As reconstructed by Justice, the couple was in Resistencia, the capital of Chaco, until Saturday. Pérez and Caillava assured that they went to that city for a medical check-up and also to buy a mobile box, but investigators are trying to determine if that trip has any connection with the case of Loan, who had been last seen a day before in a lunch at which both defendants were present.

Loan disappeared from his grandmother’s house in El Algarrobal on Thursday the 13th. The hypothesis is that Pérez and Caillava took him in a Ford Ranger 4×4 truck around July 9. Traces of the five-year-old boy’s odor were identified in that vehicle. However, they went to Chaco in a Ford K that is owned by the former official. In that car, Loan’s scent trail was even more important.
Before the images of the couple in a Resistencia building, another recording of the Red Ford Ka when it entered the provincial capital. The video was recorded on Friday the 14th, but was contributed to the investigation this Monday when the case went to Federal Justice. In that sequence you can see the car advancing across the bridge that connects Corrientes with Chaco.
Pérez’s car was parked in the Necochea building at 900. The first floor apartment that the former sailor rents was raided by Justice after it was confirmed that the couple had spent the night in that city.

In that operation, a service weapon and dozens of ammunition were seized and the DVDR of the building’s security cameras, which recorded the time of entry, was also seized. In that place, investigative sources confirmed that no traces of Loan were found, unlike what the search for the dogs inside the car did reveal.
As Clarín reported, for prosecutors Guillermo Barry and Juan Carlos Castillo, on June 13 in the afternoon, Caillava, Pérez, uncle Antonio Benítez (37) and Mónica Millapi (35), kidnapped Loan on the road that leads to some orange plants from the Algarrobal area and loaded it into the sailor’s truck. He then moved on to Caillava’s red Ford Ka, where he stayed the longest. The information arose from an odographic examination carried out with highly trained dogs.
The now former prosecutors of the case (which was transferred to the Federal Court) believe that Loan was taken out of 9 de Julio in that car, possibly bound for Chaco, the province to which the official and the marine traveled hours later.
