The Attorney General’s Office of the State of San Luis Potosí (FGESLP) alerts citizens about the circulation of a false Amber Alert file, and also urges not to create or disseminate this type of apocryphal Person Search Files since it constitutes a crime.

The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Human Rights, through the Amber Alert Coordination, is the only body that can officially generate these images.

Given this, the autonomous institution has the power to initiate legal action against anyone who generates or shares this type of unauthorized tokens.

These actions are sanctioned by articles 254 and 258 of the State Penal Code, which state that the crime of falsification and use of a false or altered object or document is committed by anyone who, knowing its falsity, makes use of official seals or emblems such as that of the State Attorney General’s Office, Amber Alert or anyone belonging to public bodies.

Persons found responsible for these crimes could be punished with a sentence of up to seven years in prison and a financial penalty.

Likewise, the population is reminded to consult the Official Amber Alert Files on their social networks, as well as those of the Prosecutor’s Office and on the official website http://www.fiscaliaslp.gob.mx.
