The company in charge of the project highlighted that Phase IV “exceeded expectations” and highlights the potential for greater high-grade mineralization.

Wednesday, June 26, 2024.- The company Atex announced the test results for partial drilling holes ATXD25A and ATXD26A, the seventh and eighth wells of its Phase IV drilling campaign at the Valeriano copper-gold project, located in the Atacama Region.

Through a press release, it was highlighted that, during Phase IV of the project, the company “has greatly improved the understanding of the geometry of the Valerian system and has demonstrated greater continuity of the higher grade core by crossing the best grades seen. till the date”.

Likewise, it is highlighted that at the end of the campaign, “the system remained open in all directions despite increasing the length of the attack in the mineralized intrusive units to more than 1.2 kilometers, which demonstrates the scalability potential of the deposit” .

Meanwhile, “the late-stage epithermal system that overlies the wall rock mineralization that was intersected above the top of the porphyry units provides another interesting exploration target to pursue in Phase V and represents an option.” potential as a separate high-grade domain within the larger resource envelope,” the statement details.

In this regard, the president and CEO of Atex, Ben Pullinger, assured that “Phase IV exceeded our expectations, highlights the potential for further high-grade mineralization and provides the first evidence of the presence of multiple overlapping systems that produce higher grades. high along the increasing high-grade trend from ATXD16A to ATXD26, representing a strike length of approximately 700 m and open along strike in both directions and at depth.”

“In addition, this program continues to deliver the highest ratings seen on the project to date and provides an exciting springboard to launch it in Phase V,” the executive said.

Description

The Valeriano project is located approximately 125 km southeast of the city of Vallenar, in the interior of the Atacama Region, at an altitude that varies between 3,800 to 4,400 meters above sea level.

Valeriano is estimated to host a large copper-gold porphyry resource: 1,410 million tonnes at 0.67% CuEq (0.50% Cu, 0.20 g/t Au, 0.96 g/t Ag and 63, 80 g/t Mo), which includes a higher grade core totaling 200 million. tons at 0.84.
