From the Presidential Delegation of the Metropolitan Region declared the third environmental pre-emergency of the year for this Thursday in the Santiago basin due to poor ventilation conditions.
The determination was made on the recommendation of the Regional Ministerial Secretary (Seremi) of the Environment in order to protect the health of the population, preventively declaring the environmental measure.
According to what was indicated by the authority, during this day, five of the 10 stations in the Monitoring Network of the Ministry of the Environment remained at “regular” air quality levels.while the others had the rank of “good”.
Thus, according to the weather forecast for this Thursday, an “anticyclonic regime on the surface and ridge will give way to an approach of a trough at altitude, with temperatures between 3°C and 15°C.”there being no probability of advection towards the basin of the Metropolitan Region.”
The authority highlighted the permanent measures established in critical pollution episodes, such as the prohibition of lighting wood heaters and their derivatives (including pellets), which will be supervised by Seremi de Salud de la RM, municipalities and Carabineros. The prohibition of agricultural burning was also emphasized, which will be supervised by the Seremi of Agriculture and teams of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf).
Due to the above, the vehicle restriction also applies for cars with and without a green seal.
The authority stressed that “In pre-emergency, a two-digit vehicle restriction is applied to Cargo Transportation with a Green Seal of any year (vans, vans and trucks), which in this case corresponds to license plates that end in 4 and 5.”
For for cars with Green Sealthe numbers correspond to 0 and 1. This applies to those prior to September 2011, within the Provinces of Santiago, San Bernardo and Puente Alto, they cannot circulate between 07:30 and 21:00 hours.
Meanwhile, for cars without Green Seal and Motorcycles 2002, will apply for 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
For motorcycles of the year 2010, The permanent restriction governs which by calendar is for patents ending in 0 and 1.
For the Cargo transportation vehicles without a Green Seal, It will be for 0.1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, the same numbers that apply for paid private passenger transport buses, intercity and rural buses without the Green Seal.
The paralysis of large industrial establishments was also ordered, which on this occasion will apply to: Aceros Chile, Arrigoni Metalúrgica, EFEMM Fertilizados, Extruder, Profal and Schaffner, which applies for 24 hours.
