In statements to Prensa Latina, Naranjo explained that the bartender of the Habana Libre Tryp Hotel, Ana Carla Hernández, was the international winner of the Lady Drink 2024 Cocktail, held in Venice, Italy.
Meanwhile, Kenia Borges, from the Hotel Meliá Internacional Varadero, among contestants from 16 countries, won the prize in the first edition of the Barlady International Cocktail Championship.
Naranjo explained that the ACC was the only association of bartenders in Latin America invited to participate in the Barlady competition, and considered that winning that award allowed them to attract the second edition of that world competition to the country to Cuba in 2025.
One of the fundamental objectives of the ACC, he assured, is to increase the training of all bartenders and raise their level of preparation and professionalism, as well as increase the wealth of knowledge that bartenders can offer, from the bar, to customers.
When referring to the membership of the ACC, he specified that they have 1,582 associates, distributed in 19 base bodies throughout the Island, but despite this they need to continue growing.
“We have to grow and we have to increase the membership of the tourism sector to improve this service to the people who visit us and then direct our strategies on that basis,” he defended.
This is how the ACC reaches its centenary this June 27, he indicated, with more dreams ahead, for us it is an achievement and a success to be the first in the world to turn 100 years old.
In the morning, the qualifying round of bidding in the Fabio Delgado in Memoriam contest took place at the Bar Golfo of the hotel facility itself.
The ACC, formerly the Bartenders Club of the Republic of Cuba, has as its relationship body the Ministry of Tourism, and is a member of the International Bartenders Association, and is sponsored by the Cuban rum Havana Club.
This association is registered as legal representative of the Cuban canteen school before the Ministry of Justice and the School of Hotel Management and Tourism.
