The government regulated the National Law of Electronic Recipewhich will come into force as of July 1, with the objective of changing the way drugs are prescribed throughout the country, as well as studies and practices ordered by health professionals, which were historically carried out on paper. In Corrientes, they have been in force since January 1. In Corrientes we are going to reach the regulations well because we have used them for a long time,” said Gustavo Vega, general manager of IOSCor.

“We started working on this issue during the pandemic. We had the problem of people not being able to move around and everything else, which led us to start working on the issue of electronic prescriptions. Then, last year, we had an offer of a prescription issuing platform that was already used by other social works, both provincial and prepaid, and due to its good functioning it was well received,” he said.

Currently, the electronic prescription is used in Corrientes and can be used by doctors through a computer or cell phone.

Regarding its use, he highlighted that: “Today the patient can receive the file, but they will only use it when the medication has a prescription on file. If not, it is data that is passed to the phone and will not be used because By going to the pharmacy and giving a document number, the medicine is in the cloud.

It should be noted that IOSCor makes tutorials available on its social networks (@ioscor_ctes) in which the use of these tools is explained, which are free to register and simple to use.

National regulations

The modification was regulated through decree No. 345/202 and starting in July a period of 180 days in which all systems must be adapted and registries throughout the country to guarantee the implementation of electronic prescriptions. Until December, those that have been made on paper will be valid.

In the case of Corrientes, this process in which both recipes (the paper one and the digital one) will not be necessary since it no longer works.
