The City Council of San Millán de la Cogolla, the Emilianense Cultural Association, the Tierras de San Millán Association and Ediciones Emilianenses convene the II Literary Contest ‘The Tales of María de la O Lejárraga’, in this edition with the communicative power of the radio as a common thread, given that María Lejárraga worked for many years at RadioNacional Argentina, in Buenos Aires.

The deadline for submitting works ends on August 31 and the jury’s decision will be announced on October 26 during a public event in San Millán. Those interested in competing must send their works – with a maximum length of 5 DIN A4 pages – either to the email [email protected] or by regular mail to the San Millán de la Cogolla City Council. They can also be submitted through the contest website mariadelaolejarraga.es.

Aimed at authors over 18 years of age and from any country, the contest includes a prize, consisting of a 3D model of the image of María de la O Lejárraga, and diplomas for the runners-up.

With this initiative, its promoters aim to publicize the figure of this illustrious author, politician and activist born in San Millán by promoting her first literary genre, the short story.
