Under the theme called ‘Technology and Accreditation of Higher Education’begins at the University of Magdalena, the 10th International Accreditation Forum of the Education Quality Accreditation Agency – Equaa (for its acronym in English).

Academics from Latin America will meet in the city of Santa Marta on the days June 27, 28 and 29to hold this important annual meeting, where exercises and reflections are developed on the different bets that higher education has.

Tomorrow the Alma Mater will host the official opening of the 10th International Accreditation Forum, which will be attended by Dr. Pablo Vera Salazar, rector of Unimagdalena, and Antonio Freitas, president of Equaa. Starting at 9:00 am, the installation of the forum will be broadcast on the Facebook and YouTube pages of the University of Magdalena.

In addition, Accompanying the stage will be Ivaldo Torres, rector of the University of Pamplona, ​​and Gina Lindo, dean of the Prime Business School of Santa Marta of the Sergio Arboleda University, institutions that will also host this international event.

During the first day, three panels will be addressed that correspond to: ‘Technological trends and their impact on academic accreditations’ starting at 9:30 in the morning; at 10:30 ‘New technologies and their effect on the employability of students’; and ‘Challenges and opportunities for internationalization in virtual environments’ from 12:00 noon.

The rector Pablo Vera Salazar will have his participation during the second panel and will be accompanied by personalities such as Zully Chevarria, director of Master’s Degrees at the University of Lima; Andrés Vives, director of Development and Competitiveness of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Marta and Esteban AndradeAcademic Vice-Rector of the Sek International University of Ecuador.

“As universities with a program in the field of business, it is necessary that we are permanently reflecting on these exercises and even more so now, when there is an environment that is demanding transcendental transformations from higher education.” Said Dr. Óscar García Vargas, academic vice-rector of this House of Higher Studies.

It should be noted that Unimagdalena with the participation of the Top manager and head of the Quality Assurance Office, is contributing to the common objective of this meeting, which is precisely to talk about transformation through higher education.
