According to the complaint, men dressed in camouflage and bracelets belonging to the National Liberation Army, ELN, had carried out several illegal checkpoints in recent days between the municipalities of La Cruz and San Pablo, in the north of Nariño and borders with the department of Cauca, which has generated unrest and a lot of concern among the communities.
Some farmers who claim to have taken photographs at the time of the checkpoints also claim that the Members of this illegal armed group search the vehicles and ask for the identities of their occupants.
The mayor of the municipality of La Cruz, Fabián Guerrero, referred to this unfortunate event and asked the competent authorities to investigate because the safety of the inhabitants would be at stake.
“In recent days there is evidence, there are images of the presence of some group in the sector known as El Chilcal, at this moment we do not know where they come from or to what structure or organization they belong,” said the official.
