They recover a motorcycle that was stolen in Manizales

In an operation, the Criminal Investigation Section (SIJIN) of the National Police recovered a motorcycle that was stolen in December 2023. The motorcycle, valued at $3,000,000, was delivered to its owner, Jairo, 35, in the main entrance of the SIJIN.

The motorcycle was stolen using the “pulling” method, a common strategy of criminals who take advantage of the lack of care and security of parked vehicles. To prevent this type of theft, the National Police recommends:

  • Take the motorcycle to recognized workshops.
  • Avoid leaving it parked with the engine on.
  • Do not give the keys to strangers.
  • Always lock it when parking.
  • Observe your surroundings before leaving home and when stopping at traffic lights.
  • Do not leave the motorcycle in the care of minors or in dark places.
  • Park it in closed and authorized parking lots.
  • Install an alarm system.
  • Request marking of spare parts and accessories.
