When will the minimum wage increase in Chile?

In accordance with the provisions of the legislation, the basic income of workers in Chile will have a new increase starting next Monday, July 1, 2024.

That is, starting next month, those people who receive the minimum wage will experience a rise in their respective payments.

Minimum wage in Chile: What will the new amount be?

Specifically, starting next July 1st The minimum salary will be $500,000 for those workers over 18 and up to 65 years of age.

In detail, the law 21,578 indicates that “as of July 1, 2024, raise the minimum income to $500,000 monthly for workers over 18 and up to 65 years of age.”

Will there be more increases in the minimum wage?

However, this will not be the only increase in the basic income, since in the future there will also be new increases in the minimum wage. Specifically in the year 2025 a similar movement to the current one will also occur.

The above lies in the fact that the law 21,578 establishes an automatic change considering the Consumer Price Index (CPI) that registered between the months of July and December of this year, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This would be reflected if the indicators show that inflation is positive.
