The president of the Chamber of Deputies urged Ricardo Quintela to pressure his 4 deputies to support the Fiscal Package and, if so, he will send them enough funds to suspend the use of the “Chacho” quasi-currency.

Before the treatment of the modifications to the Law Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines begins in the Chamber of Deputies, the president of the lower house, Martin Menemintimidated the governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, via networks to urge his 4 deputies to vote in favor of the fiscal package.

“If the fiscal package is approved tomorrow, La Rioja will receive 75,000 million extra pesos. I hope that Governor Ricardo Quintela will accompany the four deputies of Unión por la Patria,” Menem published on his X account. It is no coincidence that the president of the Chamber claims this power, given that a few days ago he was the one who unlocked the funds for public works in this province.

Furthermore, in the publication he not only tagged the provincial leader, but also the legislators (Gabriela Pedrali, Ricardo Herrera and Hilda “Beba” Soria) of said province and the former governor of Rioja, Sergio Casas.

Specifically, this Wednesday it was announced – through the media – that La Rioja will begin to use the “Chacho” quasi-currency, which had been announced at the beginning of the year by Governor Quintela. With it, the provincial government intends to pay salaries to public employees and, thus, be able to use the national currency to pay for public works paralyzed by the management of Javier Milei.

Knowing this, Menem continued with his message: “There is not a single reason that justifies using the Chachos.” Despite the public pressure, Governor Quintela has not expressed himself, but the opposition accused the president of the Chamber of “extorting” and trying to “manipulate” the decision of the Legislative Branch with the distribution of public funds.
