In a series of operations carried out yesterday morning, police personnel from the Investigative Support Unit, together with the Special Laws Section dependent on Directorate D-5, carried out inspections in two farms in the department of Chimbas, detecting various violations of Law 2437-J on the possession, marketing and transportation of non-ferrous materials.
The first inspection was carried out in the chacarita “Camacho“, located on Díaz Street, before Centenario Street. The police officers, when meeting with the person in charge of the property, requested the corresponding documentation for the commercial activity. The person in charge stated that he did not have any documentation, which led to the preventive closure of the establishment for violation of Article 72 of Law 941-R (Provincial Misdemeanor Code) In addition, a violation of Article 106 (Breach of closure) was found, since the chacarita was previously closed.
The second operation was carried out in Chacarita “Alcayaga“, located in Villa 1 de Mayo, on Salvador María de Carril Street. In this place, police officers verified the sale of unused materials. During the inspection, rolls and cuttings of high-tension aluminum wiring were found hidden among cartons and glass bottles.
When requesting documentation proving the origin and traceability of the non-ferrous material, the person in charge was unable to present any formal and reliable document. As a result, the Infringement Act was issued due to the lack of documentation enabling the marketing of these materials and the establishment was preventively closed. In addition, 209.5 kg of aluminum were seized.
