A traffic accident that occurred this Thursday in the city of Santiago de Cuba involved two motorcycles that collided at a busy intersection, leaving at least two injured.
Journalist Yosmany Mayeta published on Facebook that the incident occurred at the intersection of Escario and Second Street, in the Santa Bárbara neighborhood.
According to the communicator, the first reports indicate that the driver of the red motorcycle, who was coming from Second Street, did not respect the “Stop” sign that requires stopping, and hit the other motorcycle that circulated on Escario Street, which has the right of way.
“The injured people were taken to a hospital in the city.but we do not know their personal information and the severity of their injuries,” said Mayeta, who did not provide information about the presence of companions on both motorcycles.
Accidents are quite frequent in Santiago de Cuba, where motorcycles are involved.
Just 10 days ago, a traffic accident occurred in Cuabitas, Santiago de Cuba, when a young motorcyclist collided with a car belonging to the Operational Guard of the National Revolutionary Police.
Eyewitnesses reported that The motorcyclist was traveling at high speed and, after the collision, was left lying on the street.
After the impact, the young man underwent surgery twice, but finally passed away.
The motorcyclist received an emotional farewell, which included a large funeral procession of drivers.
