Cali has a District Mental Health Policy and under Agreement 0501 of 2021, the mental health model was created that is focused on addressing mental disorders, violence, and psychoactive substance use. This strategy is developed through joint actions with the health provider network, through the public IPS network, EPS and EABP, and the protective network, which includes the people who make up the different life environments: family , work, community.

Why librarians?

The people who support such as librarians become an important potential to help identify risks and warning signs that may be affecting a person’s health. By being trained, they will have the ability to identify and guide the community to seek the appropriate care route. Likewise, it will be a way to do prevention and promotion of health services and healthy habits for life.

The training will be carried out in the areas of mental health, such as types of violence, the use and consumption of psychoactive substances, emotional management, depression and anxiety disorders and suicidal thoughts, as well as psychological first aid and health care routes.
