The Federal Prosecutor’s Office became aware of the hunger strike through the media. For this reason, he acted ex officio and this morning Natalia Colombo, Secretary of Execution, went to meet with the inmates who have been on strike since Wednesday.

Federal Prosecutor Rafael Vehils Ruiz said that it is the responsibility of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to oversee the detention status of the accused and inmates who are housed in the Penitentiary, whether they are being prosecuted or convicted.

In this interview, the former CEO of “Adhemar Capital”, Edgar Bacchiani, told them that he was upset with the Federal Court for the delay in resolving the case. He said that they sent notes to the Provincial Penitentiary Service to be delivered to the Court, but that they did not receive any answers.

Vehils Ruiz also clarified that the delay is due to the fact that the cases are in the Federal Court of Appeals in Tucumán, where various claims by the defense of the defendants in the fraud cases are pending resolution.

“The financial cases represent the movement of a Prosecutor’s Office. “They are complex cases due to the volume, the investigation and the number of defendants there are.”

Last night, inmates Bacchiani, Edgardo Bulacio (h), Cristian Rojo, José Daniel Carrizo and Esteban Cabello, who are being prosecuted and imprisoned in the Miraflores prison for pyramid schemes, went on hunger strike. They all share the same cell block.
