Cordova/The Palacio de la Merced, headquarters of the Provincial Council of Cordobawas the setting this Thursday for the awards ceremony EmprendeUCO, a gala attended by numerous authorities from the political, academic and business spheres and which was chaired by the highest representative of the provincial institution, Salvador Fuentes. A total of nine awards and recognitions have been awarded, in the categories of Best pitch (750 euros), to the project El presente es nuestra; Best social entrepreneurship (1,000 euros) for the Ligno-In project (1,000 euros), and Best business model (1,000 euros), for the Magnet Media project.

Likewise, an award was presented in the EmprendeUCO women categories (1,000 euros) to the Instinctive Dance project; Disruptive technology (1,000 euros) to the Datavillus project; Best business model (1,500 euros), for the Almudena Mogica Veterinary Center project; Social entrepreneurship (1,500 euros) for the project Your easier day to day life; Best idea applied to the province (2,000 euros) for the La Piconera Studio project; and EmprendeUCO (3,000 euros) for the Flamingo Biomechanical Lab project.

A generation with “a lot of talent”

Fuentes has congratulated all the winners for the work carried out and has raised “the Lot of talent that there is in the province, talent that we must take advantage of and continue to support from public administrations with initiatives like this one.”

In this sense, the highest representative of the provincial institution has emphasized “the importance of collaboration which we have been maintaining with the University of Córdoba, on this occasion thanks to an agreement endowed with 124,525 euros”, which is provided in full by the provincial institution.

Another of the ideas on which the president of the Córdoba Provincial Council focused his speech was that “this initiative generates employment and encourages entrepreneurial spirit among the younger population, while promoting their employability and promoting the economic and social development of the province.”

About twenty projects in competition

In this tenth edition, they have presented 20 projects, of which 70% are individual; 15% correspond to couples; 4% to groups of 3 participants, and 11% are made up of five people. Regarding distribution by sex, 60% of the ideas have been presented by women, which shows their greater drive towards employability. By age range, 64% are between 23 and 31 years old, while the remaining 36% are between 32 and 50 years old.

In relation to origin, 83% of those interested come from the capital, compared to 17% who come from a municipality. By training, 48% of the participants have university studies, while 52% do not have higher education.

By sectors, seven projects are linked to the sector servicesthree to tourism and culture, three to the agri-food sector, two to health, two to the circular economy and one to education.
